HOLLYWOOD (CAP) - Sources close to A-list couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie say the pair is moving forward with plans to adopt more children. According to court documents obtained by CAP News, Emmanuel Lewis could be their son as early as next month.
"Angelina wanted to adopt a child from Africa, but Brad wanted to stay a little closer to home," said Page Six gossip columnist Liz Smith. "So they decided to go with a black child actor."
Smith said Lewis wasn't the couple's first choice, but Gary Coleman and Jaleel White both resisted attempts to become part of the Jolie/Pitt brood. She said the duo also expressed interest in taking Billie Thomas under their wing but scrapped that idea when they realized Buckwheat died back in 1980.
"We were watching Nick At Night when it struck us - who needs more love than that little guy, Webster?" said Pitt when CAP News cornered him as he left a packie in Burbank, Calif. "We can't save all the kids, but by gum, we can certainly try."
Angelina's publicist said once this adoption is in place, the two will begin accepting applications to become their next adoptee. Preference this time will be given to Caucasian girls. Soleil Moon Frye has reportedly begun taking typing lessons in the hopes of submitting an early application.
